The following terms and conditions (“Terms”) apply when you provide prior express consent to receive text messages from 1Life Healthcare, Inc. and its affiliated professional corporations, including One Medical, One Medical Seniors, and Iora Health  (collectively “One Medical,” “we,” or “us”).  

By opting-in to receive SMS Text messages from us, you agree to the following:

Content. Information and updates from One Medical Seniors regarding care management, business and community partnerships, events, general health and wellness information, and general information about One Medical Seniors.

If you are a patient of One Medical, our messages may also include information related to your care at One Medical, including appointment reminders.

SMS TEXT SHOULD NOT BE USED AS AN EMERGENCY LINE. IF YOU ARE SUFFERING A MEDICAL EMERGENCY, PLEASE CONTACT 9-1-1 OR GO TO THE NEAREST EMERGENCY MEDICAL CENTER.

Consent. By opting into texting messaging services, you consent to receive mobile text alerts using an automatic telephone dialing system. Consent to receive text messages is not required as a condition of receiving any goods or services from One Medical. Message frequency varies.  Message and data rates may apply. Text messaging may not be available via all carriers. By signing up, you are confirming you are over the age of 13.


Opt-in. To start receiving One Medical Seniors text messages, you can text SENIORS to 74317 or complete one of the forms below.

  • If you are a current patient at One Medical Seniors, please complete this form.  
  • If you are an agent or broker that partners with One Medical Seniors, please complete this form
  • If you are a community member interested in learning more about One Medical Seniors, please complete this form.

Opt-Out. If you no longer want to receive text messages from One Medical, the sole and exclusive remedy is to end enrollment in the specific texting program by texting STOP to 74317

Reliance on Carrier Infrastructure. We do not guarantee the successful delivery of text messages by your wireless provider. Messages sent by text may not be delivered if the mobile device is not in range of a transmission site, or if sufficient network capacity is not available at a particular time. Even within a coverage area, factors beyond the control of wireless carriers may interfere with message delivery, including the terrain, proximity to buildings, foliage, weather, and the recipient's equipment.  We will not be liable for losses or damages arising from (a) non-delivery, delayed delivery, or misdirected delivery of a text message; (b) inaccurate or incomplete content in a text message; or (c) use or reliance on the content of any text message for any purpose.

Your Mobile Phone Number. You agree that the mobile phone number you provided is yours and that you have permission to use that mobile phone number. You must let us know right away if: (i) you change your mobile phone number, or (ii) you no longer have permission to use the mobile phone number to receive texts from us. We are not liable for any communication or transmission of information by text which happens because you did not report that your mobile number changed.


Privacy and Security. We take your privacy seriously. Please visit our website to review One Medical’s 
Privacy Policy.  

Text messages may include protected health information (PHI).  Since text messaging is unencrypted, there is a risk that this PHI could be intercepted or viewed by third parties, including others who access your device. When you choose to receive text messages from us, you do so at your own risk. Password-protecting mobile device(s) and enabling encryption, if available, is recommended. The use and disclosure of PHI in text messaging may be governed by additional privacy notices, including applicable 
Notice of Privacy Practices.


Changes to the Terms.  We may change these Terms at any time.   We will provide reasonable notice, by posting a revised version of these Terms to our website.  By continuing to receive texts, you agree to the new Terms. If you do not agree to the current or revised Terms, you cannot receive text messages from us and should text STOP to 74317.
Liability. Under no circumstances will One Medical be liable for any direct or indirect, incidental, consequential, special, exemplary, or punitive damages arising out of or in connection with use of text messaging whether or not we have been advised of the possibility of such damages.
